**Description/ Role Purpose**
A Supplier quality engineer is part of the continuous improvement of our product quality and quality management system. The Supplier quality engineer develops the quality management system continuously; this includes analysis of complaints or non-conformance reports and support to update technical files as well as analysis of manufacturing and supplier process related data. Supplier Quality Engineers is responsible for investigating, analyzing and correcting problems in quality, production and control at a supplier location. Also performs audits and implement new strategies related to supplier management.
**Job Functions**
+ Works closely with suppliers and buyers as appropriate in the resolution of supplier quality concerns.
+ Work with a multi-functional team in the evaluation and approval of new suppliers.
+ Develop and support Supplier Audits.
+ Maintains documentation relating to the supplier quality system requirements.
+ Maintain and build customer and supplier relations to ensure direct and timely communication and resolution to concerns and issues.
+ Work with product/process transfer projects to assure compliance with procedures, as well as facilitation of activities required in the transfer.
+ Develop and support continuous improvement activities to enhance the Quality Systems, using a variety of Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools, including but not limited to Six Sigma, SPC, Kaizen lean methods, DOE, etc.
+ Work with Improvement Projects for the Supplier Quality System.
+ Work with a multifunctional team in the continuous improvement of components.
+ Works closely with engineers and supervisors in resolution of non-conformances related to raw material.
+ Maintain direct and continuous communication with incoming inspection operations regarding raw material related issues.
+ Monitor performance of suppliers and determine actions as required.
+ Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
+ Comply with the standards, regulations, procedures and quality manuals applicable to Edwards Lifesciences.
**Education / Experience**
+ Bachelor ‘s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical o related field. 8 years of working experience.
+ Master's Degree or equivalent in related field. 8 years of working experience
**Required skills**
+ Working knowledge of HR software tools (i.e. Peoplesoft, SABA, Taleo, Successfactors, etc.) and Must be able to develop creative solutions to challenging problems; adept and experienced problem solver who is capable to determine root cause of technical issues and implements effective solutions in a timely manner.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
+ Must have some project management experience, involved in or led continuous improvement efforts in a cross-functional team environment.
+ Good interpersonal skills: conflict resolution, ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
+ Good working knowledge of statistics.
+ High attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
+ Working knowledge of Quality Analytics Tools including but not limited to SPC, Process Map, DFMEA/ PFMEA and Control Plans.
+ Able to understand engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and operational procedures.
+ Ability to work effective with minimal direction. Recognizes problems, develops, and executes strategies with team input.
+ Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project
