Site Engineer

Key responsibilities of a site engineer:

Site planning and set-out:

Interpreting engineering plans, marking out the construction site, leveling, and surveying to establish accurate construction parameters.

Technical oversight:

Checking drawings and calculations for accuracy, ensuring materials and construction methods comply with project specifications.

Quality control:

Performing regular inspections to verify quality standards are met throughout the construction process.

Construction supervision:

Managing and directing the work of subcontractors and site labor, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress against the project schedule.

Problem-solving:

Identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during construction.

Cost control:

Assisting in tracking project expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns, and proposing cost-effective solutions.

Communication and collaboration:

Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of project status and address concerns.

Safety compliance:

Enforcing safety regulations on site and ensuring all personnel follow proper safety procedures.

Required skills and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges on site
