This role is key to the future success of ConvaTec and by reporting to the Associate Director Manufacturing will be accountable for driving and delivering ConvaTec’s Process Engineering and Lean Sigma culture change and initiatives. Through ownership, creativity and effective leadership of the Process Engineering team you will deliver the cultural and financial benefits associated to Lean Sigma; maintain KPIs in health (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) while ensuring the plants customer service and reputation is maintained.
This role is a local role, although the holder might be required to collaborate globally with other Productivity & CI members & facilities as required, the holder of this position is responsible for:
Communicating and championing the vision and strategy of Productivity at the plant, ensuring alignment with the wider organization.
Managing and directing the plant Process Engineering resources to maximize their potential and benefit to the organization.
Management and coordination of the plants ‘Productivity Projects to ensure progress and completion on time and to budget.
Direct responsibility for representing focus factory on the continuous improvement and production line processes.
Drive process improvement by managing focus factory achievements on focus factory metric goals.
Building essential partnerships with the finance community to track financial benefits of productivity activity.
Support the Focus Factory Lead managing and controlling the approved AOP of his areas of responsibility.
Develop CPK analysis
Line Balancing, Cross Training, lay out.
Collaborating with the Global Productivity and opex to understand and contribute to the overall ConvaTec Lean Sigma strategy
Report on focus factory performance related to process engineering and process improvements.
Contributing to key Lean ‘roadmap’ projects to deliver identified benefit to the network.
Provide support to manufacturing in terms of Key Performance Indicators (OEE, MUV, Efficiency, Scrap, Yield, NCR's, CPM), Identify, Lead and Drive actions towards the achievement of indicators.
Validations (Coordination and execution of validation protocols to enhance current process performance IQ, OQ, PQ).
Process Troubleshooting (Develop, support and improve process documentation as process instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans, Standard work instructions, Autonomous maintenance activities towards the reduction of production downtime and quality nonconformance.)
Standard Costs (Revise and design with manufacturing and cost analyst the production cost in terms of labor, machine, material usage).
BOM (Revise the current bill of materials to guarantee a cost-effective production).
Manning Calculation (Revise and set man loads to the manufacturing lines per customer demand).
Support CAPA (Execution of investigations, root cause analysis and determination of corrective and preventive actions to reduce and/or eliminate nonconformance).
Productivity Projects (Identify, lead and drive improvement projects that support the annual cost savings program of more than USD 3MM per year).
