ummary of Position:
Is responsible for the corrective and preventive maintenance activities supporting the site Manufacturing Process and support systems. With minimal supervision, performs installations, troubleshooting and report activities on production machines, equipment, systems and plant facilities in order to assure process and equipment uptime. Complies with Maintenance Program Compliance, and Site procedures and policies. Executes and documents activities following GMP guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides maintenance support to the Chemical Plants, Fill & Pack, Utilities, and Waste Management Facilities.
Is responsible for providing corrective, preventive and proactive maintenance to equipment such as: centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, tanks, mechanical seals, pipes, filters, mixers, and other specialized equipment.
Performs repairs to the physical plant and facilities as required. Performs mechanical work such as fabrication, assembly, material cutting, and pipe fabrication.
Operates load lifting equipment such as forklifts and hoists. Operates forklifts and man lift equipment.
Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs covered under the PSM Mechanical Integrity control mechanical equipment.
Perform repairs to piping systems, including the fabrication of Teflon Lined segments and spool pieces.
Documents preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with good manufacturing practices (GMP's).
Performs troubleshooting for failed equipment or systems
Executes and documents adjustments and part replacements to process equipment according to production requirements, manufacturing specifications, and applicable regulations.
Maintains work environment, maintenance ship, and personal tools clean and in good condition.
Handles all the tools and equipment safely and efficiently following the usage practices and safety regulations.
Manages and properly disposes was generated by maintenance activities as per procedures and regulations.
Uses the MAXIMO computerized management program in order to document work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
Monitors and meets training profile requirements. Assures assistance to scheduled Quality, Safety, Environmental, procedures and other trainings as required.
Complies with all environmental/safety guidelines, procedures, and procedures, and reports any environmental/safety incident accordingly.
Supports summer and winter scheduled shutdown activities. Performs any other tasks that might be required and/or assigned by the supported areas.
Must be willing to work rotating shifts and/or extended hours.
General: Basic knowledge of OSHA-PSM regulation, maintenance, inspection and repair of equipment covered by the regulation. Basic pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge. Basic knowledge of cGMP, environmental safety regulations related to the industry. Knowledge of computer systems and maintenance management modules such as MAXIMO. Basic knowledge and use of computers and MS Office programs. Aerial Lifts and Platforms License.
Communication Skills: Speak, read and write Spanish correctly. Able to read and understand the English language. Ability to understand technical drawings (P&ID's and mechanical). Ability to follow written procedures and /or verbal instructions. Communication by telephone or shortwave radios. Effective communication with colleagues , superiors and customers.
Mathematical Reasoning: Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages. Abel to use a calculator, or other associated electronic equipment. Should be able to apply these skills to mechanical tasks.
Reasoning Ability: Able to discuss assignments and determine how, tools and/or safety equipment needed to perform the work. Technical capacity to determine the source of problems in machines or equipment (basic troubleshooting skills)
Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
Essential - Minimum of 2 years as Maintenance Technician within Manufacturing, Chemical or Pharmaceutical Industry.
Desirable - Minimum of 4 years as a Maintenance Technician within Manufacturing, Chemical or Pharmaceutical Industry.
