Manages, oversees, and ensures compliance with EHS regulation and Global and Regional EHS Management System requirements and drives continuous improvement of EHS programs, culture, and performance.
The position has local scope, manages EHS budget and single cost center at plant.
Track and determine applicable EHS legal requirements.
Ensure all EHS permits have been obtained and are being maintained and submit reports required by the permits and regulations.
Develop compliance programs, policies, strategies training materials and other tools as needed, to ensure the facility EHS regulatory compliance.
Promote the CVT EHS policy and act as an EHS champion, helping to establish a positive EHS culture across the site.
Facilitate and maintain EHS management system and associated documentation and records.
Act as point of contact for Regulatory Agency inspections.
Coordinate response to Regulatory Agency requests, notices and actions, obtaining support from regional or home office EHS resources asneeded
Facilitate EHS management system implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Ensure site-specific procedures and related operational controls are in place to manage EHS compliance and risk.
Work collaboratively with key supervisors at the site to ensure their roles in compliance and EHS management system implementation are clear and that they receive appropriate training and support.
Monitor site EHS performance and provide routine and exception-based reports to site and regional management.
Conduct periodic EHS inspections to verify regulatory compliance.
Facilitate local safety committees or green teams as appropriate.
Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are taken based on the results of all EHS inspections, assessments, audits and incident investigations.
Maintain EHS subject matter expertise consistent with defined role and serve as technical reference for area(s) of expertise.
Assigns and anticipates necessary resources to meet short term and long term EHSobjectives, andallocates required project resources.
Remains abreast of local regulations and legislation and advises of effect of changes.
Supports, evaluates, advises on EHS-related aspects of facility project planning, development, and implementation.
Coordinate air emission,waste water, and environmental noise monitoring.
Develops systems to ensure duty of care is provided in areas such as Industrial hygiene, hazardous operations, ergonomic, and hazard communication.
Conducts thorough and careful analysis of data, gathers critical information, effectively allocates/reassesses required organizational resources, and delivers quality solutions to EHS issues.
Contributes to creation of ahigh performanceculture through effective leadership and communication with different stakeholder organizations.
Maintain documents and archive electronically and manually.
These documents include:
Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Design History Files, Professional Standards, Documentation to support California Prop 65 / Latex/Animal Derived requirements, Product Investigations, Health Hazard Evaluations, Product Reviews, Environmental Compliance Reports, Health and Safety Programs.
Job and Workplace risk assessments including coordination and review.
Hazard Communication and interpretation of MSDS’s.
Contractor management together with the assessment and approvals procedure.
Permit to work including documentation and training in its use.
Accidents/ illness, allegation, investigation, reporting and follow up intrackwisesystem.
