Established in 2001, the IKO has grown from a 2-man vision for safer development of their sport to the largest kiteboarding organization in the world. The IKO now has an active community of more than 100,000 certified kiters, 4,000 qualified Instructors and 250 affiliated Centers in over 60 countries. Its services are mostly accessible on the IKO website and delivered by the community of Centers and Instructors. Since 2018, IKO has launched a mobile app that is the ultimate kiter companion. At the head-quarter in the Dominican Republic, you will join an international team of 12 highly motivated people that work in a relaxed but yet efficient atmosphere.
The position
To enjoy this position, you will need to be patient with both the team and the customer. Communication skills (English is a must, French and Spanish highly appreciated) are a must as you will need to present the action plan to the team and make sure the vision and direction the company is understood by all so the operations go smoothly. Solution seeker is another criteria that will help you advance in this position and allow you to grow.
A background in digital marketing or technologies is a top criteria for the job. You should be able to oversee and implement digital campaigns by laying out a project, creating a timeline, setting milestones, and managing budgets or should or be familiar with engine algorithms to manage a project that will help the SEO or SEM. If you do not have experience with digital marketing, you should have been in contact with CRM or booking platform and should be able to oversee the development of such an architecture. No developer skills needed but an experience as an IT manager is a must if you don’t have knowledge in digital marketing.
You will get to collaborate with the entire team where some members have been here for more than 10 years. On a daily basis you will get to interact as much with the team, the members and the Centers which make the work very dynamic. Also you will get several one and one meetings monthly with the CEO and co-founder of the IKO to brainstorm about new possibilities for the company.
The position needs to be fulfilled on site at Cabarete. Working hours goes from Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 but are quite flexible. Base salary will start at 25,000 dollars yearly and will be completed with bonuses up to 28,000 dollars.
The location
Based in Cabarete, this international neighborhood offers a lot of opportunities to practice outdoor activities and the climate is ideal both for surfing and kitesurfing. With numerous gated communities and private schools around town, a family could easily adapt to this latine country where people are very welcoming. Cabarete is extremely safe due to the high touristic affluence from December to April and later from June to August.
